Max Jorge Hinderer Cruz
Max Jorge Hinderer Cruz is a Bolivian/German writer, curator, and philosopher. Between 2008 and 2011 he was curator of the exhibition and publication project Principio Potosí(The Potosí Principle) at Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, and the Museo Nacional de Arte and Museo Nacional de Etnografía y Folklore in La Paz, in collaboration with Alice Creischer and Andreas Siekmann. From 2014 to 2016 he was a co-ordinator of the Program for Autonomous Cultural Action (PACA) in São Paulo, with Suely Rolnik, Amilcar Packer, and Tatiana Roque, and organiser of São Paulo’s ‘Seminário Público Micropolíticas’ – a public seminar on new social movements, new forms of government, and the notion of ‘micropolitics’.
Hinderer Cruz is the author of Hélio Oiticica and Neville D’Almeida: Block-Experiments in Cosmococa – program in progress(Afterall Books/MIT Press, 2013, with Sabeth Buchmann). Since 2019 he has been Director of the Museo Nacional de Arte (MNA) in La Paz, Bolivia. Hinderer Cruz is a founding member of the Apatride Society of the Political Others.
